Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is recruiting Class 1 Drivers for ongoing temporary assignments in Exeter, EX5 1EW. The role offers an hourly rate of £21.44–£24.57 with variable shifts, and involves driving between distribution centres to deliver parcels and freight.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, load/unload, maintain accurate records, and work with the operations team to meet schedules while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Hold a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• 2 years Class 1 driving experience in logistics or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 vehicle on planned routes between distribution centres and delivery locations.
• Transport mail, parcels and freight efficiently while meeting delivery schedules.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects per procedures.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and ensure security of goods.
• Complete delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Work independently while maintaining communication with the operations team.
• Follow road transport legislation, health and safety regulations and company policies.

What you'll be doing

What we're looking for

• Valid UK C+E driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than five penalty points and no serious driving endorsements.
• 2 years previous Class 1 driving experience within a logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport legislation and vehicle safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
