Job summary

Fifth Wheel Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Driver for loads to timber merchants around London and occasional tramping. Barrow-upon-Humber base with early starts and nights out as required.

You must hold a Class 1 licence with UK DCPC and Digi-tacho, plus 12 months of experience. Visa sponsorship is not available; a maximum of six points may be considered. Safety and regulatory compliance are essential.

• Minimum 12 months of Class 1 experience.
• Eligible to work in the UK; no visa sponsorship assumed.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 vehicle and operate Curtain Sider or Flat Beds.
• Deliver to timber merchants and trade stores around London.
• Load strap vehicles and complete daily checks.
• Accurately complete transport paperwork and comply with WTD.

Job description

Job Title: Class 1 Driver - Load strapping, deliveries in and around London - occassional tramping

Location: Barrow-upon-Humber

Pay Rate: Basic: £17.00 + £2.05 holiday pay = £19.05 per hour

Overtime: £18.70 + £2.26 holiday pay = £20.96 per hour for hours worked over 51.75 hours per week

Night-out allowance: £24 per night out

Working Hours:Monday to Friday -06:00 starts - Nights Out required from time to time

Experience: 12months Class 1 essential

• Complying with driver hours and working time regulationsAll applicants are expected to complete work to a high standard while following site safety procedures.

About you

You will have your Class 1 Driving Licence and at least 12 months experience driving commercially. You must also have your UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card.Our client may accept up to 6 points on your licence, but we can not acceptDD, TT, DR, CD, INendorsements. As a professional Driver, you will be up to date with the WTD regulations.

You will be a UK resident and will be able to travel to and from the site for your shift. We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
