Job summary

Fifth Wheel Recruitment Ltd. are seeking Class 1 Drivers in Barrow-upon-Humber to join our client, a timber merchant. You will drive Class 1 vehicles (Curtain Sider or Flat Bed) delivering to timber merchants and trade stores in and around London, with load strapping required and occasional night-out duties.

Starting times are early (06:00), Mondays to Fridays, with occasional nights out. You must have at least 12 months driving experience, a valid UK DCPC and Digi-tacho card, and a clean

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence with at least 12 months of commercial experience.
• UK DCPC and Digi-tacho cards required.
• Vetting against endorsements DD, TT, DR, CD, IN may be considered disqualifying.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 vehicle (Curtain Sider or Flat Bed) delivering to timber merchants and stores in London area.
• Carry out load strapping and daily vehicle checks.
• Complete transport paperwork and comply with driver hours regulations.

Job description

Job Title:Class 1 Driver - Load strapping, deliveries in and around London - occassional tramping
Location:Barrow-upon-Humber
Pay Rate: Basic: £17.00 + £2.05 holiday pay = £19.05 per hour
Overtime: £18.70 + £2.26 holiday pay = £20.96 per hour for hours worked over 51.75 hours per week
Night-out allowance: £24 per night out
Working Hours:Monday to Friday -06:00 starts - Nights Out required from time to time
Experience: 12months Class 1 essential

All applicants are expected to complete work to a high standard while following site safety procedures.

About you

You will have your Class 1 Driving Licence and at least 12 months experience driving commercially.You must also have your UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card.Our client may accept up to 6 points on your licence, but we can not acceptDD, TT, DR, CD, INendorsements.As a professional Driver, you will be up to date with the WTD regulations.

You will be a UK resident and will be able to travel to and from the site for your shift.We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
