Job summary

Fifth Wheel Recruitment are recruiting for a Class 1 Driver with load-strapping duties for deliveries in and around London. Based in Barrow-upon-Humber, you will operate curtain sider/flat bed vehicles and complete daily pre-checks, load securing, and paperwork, in line with WTD rules.

You must hold a Class 1 licence with 12 months minimum experience, UK DCPC, and a valid Digi-tacho. Expect occasional nights out and a competitive hourly rate with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Driving Licence held for UK operations and 12 months commercial driving experience required.
• UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card must be held.
• WTD regulations knowledge and up-to-date on driver hours rules.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a Class 1 vehicle (Curtain Sider/Flat Beds).
• Deliveries in and around London to timber merchants and trade stores.
• Perform load strapping as required and carry out daily vehicle checks.
• Complete transport paperwork and comply with driver hours and regulations.

Job Title:Class 1 Driver - Load strapping, deliveries in and around London - occassional tramping

Location:Barrow-upon-Humber

Pay Rate: Basic: £17.00 + £2.05 holiday pay = £19.05 per hour

Overtime: £18.70 + £2.26 holiday pay = £20.96 per hour for hours worked over 51.75 hours per week

Night-out allowance: £24 per night out

Working Hours:Monday to Friday -06:00 starts - Nights Out required from time to time

Experience: 12months Class 1 essential

About you:

You will have your Class 1 Driving Licence and at least 12 months experience driving commercially. You must also have your UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card.Our client may accept up to 6 points on your licence, but we can not acceptDD, TT, DR, CD, INendorsements. As a professional Driver, you will be up to date with the WTD regulations.

You will be a UK resident and will be able to travel to and from the site for your shift. We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
