Job summary

Ignition Driver Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver for multi-drop deliveries in Biggleswade. Tie to tail-lift work with heavy cages, seasonal routes, and ambient, chill, and frozen goods. You will complete vehicle checks and keep accurate electronic records to ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

We offer competitive pay (£28.01–£31.37 p/h), weekly pay, and regular ongoing work with flexible shifts. Immediate starts and a supportive transport team are provided.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 driving licence is essential.
• At least 6 months' commercial Class 1 driving experience required.
• Professional attitude with strong safety and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-drop deliveries (3-4 drops per day).
• Operate tail lift with 320+ kg cages across ambient, chill, and frozen goods.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure on-time, safe, and compliant deliveries and accurate paperwork.

Job description

Pay Rate: £28.01 to £31.37 p/h

Shifts: Variety of shifts available - one weekend day required (apply to discuss shifts + start times)

Experience: 6 months experience driving Class 1 is essential

Requirement: You will be required to complete a Drug & Alcohol Test before your Driving Assessment

The Role

• Multi-drop Deliveries (3-4 deliveries per day)
• Tail Lift work - delivering 320+kg cages on ambient, chill and frozen
• Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, professionally and on time
• Complying with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and Road Transport regulations
• Completing all relevant paperwork and electronic records accurately

What We're Looking For

• A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence
• At least 6 months' commercial Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification (DCPC)
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A professional attitude with a strong commitment to safety and customer service
