Job summary

Boughey Distribution is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join the team on a permanent contract, operating out of the Swizzels site in New Mills. The role features a 5 days on, 3 days off rolling shift pattern with a pay rate of £18.50 per hour.

Weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package are included. Responsibilities include vehicle checks, safe deliveries across Cheshire and surrounding areas, and yard assistance as required.

Qualifications

• A valid category C&E license is essential.
• Current CPC and tachograph card with a good understanding of driver hours regulations.
• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and Boughey team on site.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift – complying with all HGV driving rules.
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas.
• Manoeuvring trucks into loading and unloading positions, ensuring loads are secured, provide support in the yard including handball or pump truck deliveries where required.

Day to Day

• Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift –complying with all HGV driving rules throughout your shift to ensure there is no unnecessary damage to vehicles
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas
• Manoeuvring trucks into loading and unloading positions, ensuring loads are secured, provide support in the yard including handball or pump truck deliveries where required

What will you bring?
