Job summary

Boughey Distribution is hiring for a night-shift HGV driver at our Lymedale site. You will perform pre- and post-shift checks, ensuring compliance with HGV regulations while delivering to Cheshire and nearby areas.

The role requires a current CPC and tachograph card and Class 1 driving experience, with strong communication to liaise with customers and the Boughey team on site.

Qualifications

• CPC and tachograph card held with understanding of driver hours rules.
• Experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential.
• Excellent communication to handle delivery queries and on-site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks at start and end of each shift, ensuring compliance with HGV rules.
• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas.
• Manual handling support in loading/unloading and yard duties as required.

Due to continued growth and investment in our top of the range fleet, we are growing our driver population across our Lymedale site on the Night shift working 5 on 3 off, on a permanent contract!

Day to Day

• Complete vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift –complying withall HGV driving rules throughout your shift to ensure there is no unnecessary damage to vehicles


• Ensure safe and prompt delivery of goods across Cheshire and surrounding areas


• Manoeuvring trucks into loading and unloading positions, ensuring loads are secured, provide support in the yard including handball or pump truck deliveries where required

What will you bring?

• Current CPC and tachograph cardwith a good understanding of driver hours regulations


• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential


• Excellent communication skills to be able to handle both customer queries at point of delivery and collaborate effectively with the Boughey team on site
