Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is seeking a Class 1 Driver to carry out liquid sludge collections and deliveries across the region. You will plan daily routes, communicate with the transport team, and provide a high level of service to customers both face-to-face and over the phone.

The role includes working Monday to Friday with start times between 16:00 and 18:00 and 1 in 3 Saturdays. Overtime is available, with DCPC and ongoing training provided to stay at the forefront of industry standards.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Class 1 Licence.
• A current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience with vacuum tankers or wastewater is beneficial with full training provided.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Confident, polite manner and strong team spirit.
• Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
• Hardworking, self-motivated attitude suited to the role.

Responsibilities

The Role: Class 1 Driver

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Carry out collections and deliveries of liquid sludge throughout the region.


• Navigate a high proportion of rural routes due to the nature of collection locations.


• Plan your routes daily to ensure efficiency and timeliness.


• Maintain regular communication with the transport team to provide progress updates and support excellent customer service.


• Interact with customers both face-to-face and over the phone, delivering a professional and positive service experience.


• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• A valid UK Class 1 Licence.


• A current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.


• Experience with vacuum tankers or wastewater (beneficial, but full training will be provided).


• Strong organisational skills and confidence working to deadlines.


• A confident, polite manner and a strong team spirit.


• Good geographical knowledge of the local area.
