Job summary

Barker Ross Group is recruiting HGV Class 1 PM drivers for a global food company in the Avonmouth BS35 area. You will work 4 shifts per week on a set rota with 48 hours guaranteed, and overtime at x1.5 after the 48th hour. Temp-to-perm opportunities exist, with no Saturday shifts and start times around 16:00–18:00.

You will drive urban artic vehicles, handling 5–7 drops per shift and some handball using cages and baskets. Sunday flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho – Class 1 licence required.
• UK driving licence held for minimum 12 months with clean record.
• No IN10/DR10 or TT99 on licence; maximum 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Drive urban artic vehicle delivering high street orders.
• Manage set shifts with a fixed rota for up to 7 weeks.
• Complete 5–7 drops per shift and assist with manual handling.
• Adhere to safety, driving hours, and company procedures.
• Occasional Sunday work may be required; no Saturdays.

Salary:

• Hourly rate of £18.60 - X1.5 Rate if you work a 5th shift (over 48 hrs)
