Job summary

Gregory Distribution is seeking a Class 1 Day Driver based in Davidstow, with Monday–Friday days. You will collect powder from the customer site and deliver it safely to our Heathfield warehouse, ensuring goods are loaded and secured correctly.

You will perform daily vehicle safety checks, stay in touch with the transport team, and take part in regular training to meet latest industry standards. Overtime is paid, with enhanced weekend rates and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer service and professional presentation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Class 1 Day Driver, you will:

• Operate a curtain side trailer or LST, collecting powder from our customer site in Davidstow and transporting it safely and efficiently to our warehouse in Heathfield.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage.
• Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and representing the business professionally.
• Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and delivery schedules.
• Have a confident, professional, and courteous manner, with a strong team-focused approach.
• Possess good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.
