Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is recruiting a Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team in the United Kingdom. You will perform trunking operations, deliver to client sites, load and secure freight, and complete daily safety checks. The role emphasises customer service, punctuality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Cover trunking operations, including straight runs between hubs and delivery points.
• Provide cover for internal trunking, checking freight against manifests.
• Load and secure goods using restraints to prevent movement.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and maintain compliance.
• Maintain communication with the transport team and support customer service.
• Attend regular training to stay compliant with regulations.

Job description

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Cover a variety of trunking operations, including straight runs between hubs and designated delivery points, ensuring efficient collection, delivery, and return loading through the hub network.
• Provide cover for internal trunking when required, ensuring all freight is accurately checked and verified against manifests at each depot.
• Load and secure goods to a high standard, using appropriate restraints (straps, nets, etc.) to prevent movement or damage in transit.
• Carry out thorough daily vehicle safety checks using your company device, maintaining high standards of compliance and reliability.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, providing timely updates to support operational efficiency and customer service.
• Attend and engage in regular training to remain compliant with industry regulations and best practice standards.Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
