Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Day Driver for weekday shifts, based in Davidstow. You will operate curtain side trailers or LSTs, collect powder from the customer site, and deliver safely to the Heathfield warehouse. Ensure correct loading and securement and maintain daily vehicle safety checks.

You will communicate with the transport team, attend ongoing training, and uphold professional customer service while meeting delivery schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.
• Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and representing the business professionally.

Responsibilities

• Operate a curtain side trailer or LST, collecting powder and transporting it to the warehouse.
• Load and secure goods using straps and nets to prevent shifting or damage.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and keep transport team updated on progress.
• Participate in regular training to stay up-to-date with industry standards.

Job Description Class 1 Day Driver

Location : Davidstow Shift : Monday to Friday. Do you have a UK Class 1 CE Licence? If "YES," we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As a Class 1 Day Driver, you will: Operate a curtain side trailer or LST, collecting powder from our customer site in Davidstow and transporting it safely and efficiently to our warehouse in Heathfield. Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.

Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability. Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met. Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Driving Licence.

Possess a current Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.

Be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and representing the business professionally.

Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and delivery schedules.

Have a confident, professional and courteous manner, with a strong team-focused approach.

Possess good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.

Be flexible, reliable and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a willingness to adapt to operational requirements.

Shift Hours : Start between 07:30hrs - 09:30hrs, working Monday to Friday.
