Job summary

Orbital Recruitment Limited in Barnsley is seeking experienced Class 1 and Class 2 drivers for a full-time, permanent role in a busy transport operation.

You will handle collections and deliveries across customer sites, depots and processing facilities, with routes varying by vehicle type; pay is £15 per hour with overtime at 1.25x; hours typically 40-60 per week.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Cat C licence.
• Current Driver CPC.
• Digital tachograph card.
• Previous HGV driving experience.
• Good UK geographical knowledge.
• Strong safety awareness.
• Flexibility around overtime and occasional additional hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles safely and professionally.
• Follow daily routes and delivery schedules.
• Complete pre-start vehicle checks.
• Report defects and maintain accurate paperwork.
• Liaise with customers and site teams.
• Secure loads correctly where required.

Location: Barnsley

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Approx. 40 - 60 hours per week

Pay: £15 per hour + 1.25x overtime

Orbital Recruitment are looking for experienced Class 1 and Class 2 Drivers to join a busy transport operation based in Barnsley.

The role will involve collections and deliveries across customer sites, depots and processing facilities, with routes varying depending on vehicle type and business requirements.

Duties include:

• Operating Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles safely and professionally


• Following daily routes and delivery schedules


• Completing pre-start vehicle checks


• Reporting defects and maintaining accurate paperwork


• Liaising with customers and site teams


• Securing loads correctly where required


• Following company and road safety procedures

You will need:

• Valid Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Cat C licence


• Current Driver CPC


• Digital tachograph card


• Previous HGV driving experience


• Good UK geographical knowledge


• Strong safety awareness


• Flexibility around overtime and occasional additional hours

Previous experience within waste, recycling, haulage, skips, RoRo, tippers, bulkers or low loaders would be advantageous.
