Job summary

GXO Logistics in Hinckley is seeking a Class 1 ADR Driver to join our team. You will transport hazardous goods across the UK, including lithium batteries and solar panels, in a safe and compliant manner.

The role is full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday, start times around 05:00–06:00, averaging 48 hours per week with salary £42,577 per year. We offer a workplace pension, generous leave and access to our benefits platform.

Qualifications

• Valid Category CE (Class 1) UK driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• ADR licence, minimum class 9 - miscellaneous dangerous substances, with packages preferred.
• Previous experience with hazardous goods transport desirable.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance and customer service.
• Ability to work independently with a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport ADR-classified goods to and from customer sites.
• Carry out vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure safety compliance.
• Follow ADR, Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• Accurately complete delivery documentation (ePODs, manifests, waste transfer notes if required).
• Provide a professional, reliable service when representing the company to customers.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Safely transport ADR-classified goods (e.g. lithium-ion batteries) to and from customer sites
• Carry out vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure compliance with company and legal safety standards
• Follow ADR, Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Health & Safety regulationsat all times
• Accurately complete delivery documentation (ePODs, manifests, waste transfer notes if required)
• Provide a professional, reliable service whenrepresentingthe company to customers and site contacts

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Valid Category CE (Class 1) UK driving licence
