Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc in Hinckley is seeking an experienced Class 1 ADR Driver to transport hazardous goods securely across the UK for our client Octopus. This is a full-time, permanent role, with a Monday to Friday pattern and start times between 05:00 and 06:00, averaging 48 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Valid Category CE (Class 1) UK driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• ADR licence, minimum class 9 - hazardous substances, with packages preferred.
• Previous experience with hazardous goods transport desirable.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently with a professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport ADR-classified goods (e.g. lithium-ion batteries) to and from customer sites.
• Carry out vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure compliance with company and legal safety standards.
• Follow ADR, Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Health & Safety regulations at all times.
• Accurately complete delivery documentation (ePODs, manifests, waste transfer notes if required).
• Provide a professional, reliable service when representing the company to customers and site contacts.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Safely transport ADR-classified goods (e.g. lithium-ion batteries) to and from customer sites
• Carry out vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure compliance with company and legal safety standards
• Follow ADR, Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Health & Safety regulationsat all times
• Accurately complete delivery documentation (ePODs, manifests, waste transfer notes if required)

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Valid Category CE (Class 1) UK driving licence
