Dynamite Recruitment is seeking a Claims Handler/Customer Service professional in Portsmouth. Starting salary is £27,980 with progression to up to £32,000 within 12-24 months.

The role is office-based during probation and becomes hybrid thereafter, with full training provided. You will handle customer queries by phone and email, assess claims, check policy cover, gather documentation, and negotiate settlements when appropriate.

Claims Handler/ Customer Service

Salary: £27980,00 starting salary | Up to £32,000 within 12-24 months

Location: Portsmouth: Office-based during probation, then hybrid thereafter

Start date: 23rd November 2026

Hours: Full-time, Shift patterns provided around 5 weeks in advance

• Monday-Friday, with start times between 8.00am and 9.45am
• Finish times between 4.30pm and 6.15pm
• Approximately 1in 5 Saturdays, with a day off in lieu
• Occasional bank holiday working

About the Role

Dynamite Recruitment is looking for Claims Handlers/ Customer Services to join an established organisation with excellent training and career development opportunities.

You’ll be helping customers with their insurance claims, providing support when they may be dealing with unexpected or stressful situations.

Your day‑to‑day role will include:

• Handling customer queries by phone and email
• Assessing and investigating claims
• Checking policy cover
• Gathering information and supporting documentation
• Providing clear and helpful information to customers
• Negotiating and settling claims where appropriate
• Managing a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy

What We're Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous customer service experience
• Experience in a call centre, claims or insurance environment is useful but not essential
• Good telephone and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good computer skills
• The ability to stay organised and calm under pressure
• Good numerical ability
• A friendly and empathetic approach
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines

Training

The role starts on 23rd November 2026.

You will complete a 7-week full‑time training programme, Monday to Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm.

You must be available to attend the full 7-week training programme

Full training and support will be provided, so you don’t need previous claims experience to be considered.
