Job summary

Markel is seeking a Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity in Leeds with hybrid working (4 days in office, 1 day home). You will handle Professional Indemnity claims, support London Market adjusters, and work closely with brokers and insured clients to deliver exceptional service.

The role offers structured training, exposure to PI and Financial Risks, and a strong pathway into the London Market within a growing specialist claims team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of lower complexity Professional Indemnity claims from notification to resolution.
• Review and process claim notifications, excess layer submissions, and bordereaux claims.
• Handle delegated authority and cover holder claims activity.
• Manage workflows through London Market systems and internal claim platforms.
• Liaise with brokers to obtain information, provide updates, and resolve queries.
• Build strong relationships with key broker partners and stakeholders.
• Identify trends, maintain accurate claims records, and support reporting activities.
• Escalate more complex claims to specialist London Market adjusters where appropriate.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and claims teams across the business.

The Opportunity

As a Claims Adjuster, you'll become part of an expanding Leeds-based team focused on handling Professional Indemnity claims and notifications. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to brokers and insured clients while supporting London-based adjusters on a varied portfolio of claims.

This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where attention to detail, strong organisation, and excellent relationship management skills are highly valued.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing a portfolio of lower complexity Professional Indemnity claims from notification through to resolution

• Previous experience within insurance, claims, broking, or insurance operations
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
