Job summary

QBE Europe in Leeds is seeking a Claims Adjuster – Liability Credit Hire to investigate and resolve disputed liability claims, focusing on Credit Hire recovery and policy coverage. You will manage a caseload and ensure timely, fair handling of claims.

The role is hybrid in Leeds, requires strong investigative and negotiation skills, and delivers service excellence while supporting underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with Credit Hire claims at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve Liability disputes involving Credit Hire to minimise leakage.
• Identify coverage issues to align liability with contractual commitments.
• Pursue subrogation and other recovery where appropriate.
• Manage claims to settle on an economic basis and reserve accurately.
• Respond to internal/external requests within service standards.

Your new role:

• Investigate and resolve Claims where Liability is disputed involving Credit Hire in order to provide excellent Claims handling service with minimal leakage
• Identify and investigate coverage issues so as to ensure that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments
• Identify subrogation, contribution and other recovery issues and ensure that these are successfully pursued where appropriate
• Manage Claims and other material Claims issues in order to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis
• Ensure that Claims fees and advices are responded to within agreed timeframes to ensure good service
• Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards
• Flag complaints as required and Treat Customers Fairly
• Maintain knowledge of the Claims Portfolio and provide information to others on request to ensure the effective monitoring of Claims to support Underwriting and Claims decisions
• Reserve accurately to ensure that the Company’s liability is clear at all times
• Maintain efficient handling of their own caseload to ensure the prompt, timely and effective handling of Claims
• Have a complete understanding of the ABI GTA agreement and be able to deal with claims within the contracted timescales
• Being able to deal with Non-GTA Credit Hire claims and understand the arguments and documentation that can be used to obtain a satisfactory outcome

• Experience dealing with Credit Hire claims at all levels
• Excellent investigative skills
• Proven experience dealing with policy coverage
• Experience dealing with liability negotiations
• Have a good understanding of a litigation process
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Relationship Management skills
• Able to competently use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
