Job summary

QBE in Leeds is seeking a Claims Adjuster – Liability Credit Hire to examine and process claims and ensure claims handling aligns with policy terms.

You will investigate coverage issues, subrogation opportunities, reserves, and timely responses to stakeholders; the role requires strong investigative skills and experience with Credit Hire claims.

This hybrid role combines office and home-based work with a focus on accurate reserves and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Experience handling Credit Hire claims at all levels.

• Proven experience dealing with policy coverage.
• Experience dealing with liability negotiations.
• Understanding of a litigation process.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve Credit Hire claims where liability is disputed.
• Identify coverage issues to ensure liability aligns with contractual commitments.
• Identify subrogation and recovery opportunities where appropriate.
• Manage claims to resolve and settle efficiently.
• Ensure timely responses to fees and advices within service standards.
• Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests.
• Flag complaints and Treat Customers Fairly.
• Maintain knowledge of the Claims Portfolio to support underwriting and decisions.
• Reserve accurately to reflect company liability at all times.
• Maintain your caseload for prompt, timely handling of claims.
• Understand the ABI GTA agreement and contract timescales.
• Deal with Non-GTA Credit Hire claims and relevant documentation.

Your new role:

• Investigate and resolve Claims where Liability is disputed involving Credit Hire in order to provide excellent Claims handling service with minimal leakage
• Identify and investigate coverage issues so as to ensure that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments
• Identify subrogation, contribution and other recovery issues and ensure that these are successfully pursued where appropriate
• Manage Claims and other material Claims issues in order to resolve and settle claims on an economic basis
• Ensure that Claims fees and advices are responded to within agreed timeframes to ensure good service
• Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards
• Flag complaints as required and Treat Customers Fairly
• Maintain knowledge of the Claims Portfolio and provide information to others on request to ensure the effective monitoring of Claims to support Underwriting and Claims decisions
• Reserve accurately to ensure that the Company’s liability is clear at all times
• Maintain efficient handling of their own caseload to ensure the prompt, timely and effective handling of Claims
• Have a complete understanding of the ABI GTA agreement and be able to deal with claims within the contracted timescales
• Being able to deal with Non-GTA Credit Hire claims and understand the arguments and documentation that can be used to obtain a satisfactory outcome

• Experience dealing with Credit Hire claims at all levels
• Excellent investigative skills
• Proven experience dealing with policy coverage
• Experience dealing with liability negotiations
• Have a good understanding of a litigation process
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Relationship Management skills
• Able to competently use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
