Job summary

Sapphire Utility Solutions is seeking a Civils Team Leader to manage the civils team from our Kinmel Bay depot, reporting to Operations Manager and supporting the Welsh Water contract. You will ensure work is delivered to SLA targets, on time and within budget, with technical input and team leadership on site.

You will drive on-site solutions, coordinate with the scheduling team, and maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Experience in civils, deep excavations and sewer repairs.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • CPCS above 10 tonne with lift ops; HSG47, SSSTS and Streetworks Accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operational responsibility for the civils team and day-to-day activities.
  • Organise labour cost-effectively, including recruitment, disciplinary action, wages and absence management.
  • Manage resources such as sub-contractors, materials and plant.
  • Conduct monthly team briefings and support staff coaching and development.
  • Assist with the defect programme and ensure KPIs are met; attend client and council meetings.
  • Carry out documented audits and coach teams to maintain right behaviours.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Cover all aspects of civils works on site.

Job description

Sapphire Utility Solutions are looking for a Civils Team Leader, based out of our depot in Bodelwyddan, reporting in to the Operations Manager, in support of our new Welsh Water Contract.

As a Civils Team Leader, you will be working to meet the needs of the client's SLA’s in the most productive and cost-effective manner. You will be helping to provide technical expertise, experience, and work within a team to deliver a first-class service to our customers.

You will be able to engineer solutions on site and focus your teams on completing work correctly, first time.

You will work with the scheduling team ensuring programmes are managed and delivered accordingly. You will provide support to ensure that the company's work is effectively completed through communication with internal and external customers, as well as managing business and client database systems.

About the Role

Salary: Up to £15.25 per hour depending on experience

Location: Kinmel Bay

Working Hours: 07:00am - 17:00pm

Key Responsibilities

About you
  • Previous experience within deep excavations, sewer repairs etc
  • Full UK driving license, with no more than 6 penalty points
  • Training Certs completed for cpcs above & below 10 tonne with lift ops (preferable) HSG47, SSSTS, Streetworks Accreditation,
