Job summary

Sapphire Utility Solutions, part of the Lanes Group, seeks a hands-on operative based in Andover, Hampshire, to drive gully wagons on reactive contracts along highways. You will work with an operative and an HGV driver, requiring a practical approach and tablet use on a daily basis.

The role is outdoors, involves a mix of days, nights and occasional travel away from base, with a 50‑hour week and overtime paid at 1.5x. CPC licence desirable, salary £37,000–£44,000 depending on experience.

• Operate high‑specification jetting and vacuumation units in a small team.
• Carry out remote CCTV investigations when needed to assess underground pipes and sewers.

• Liaise with customers and update electronic records.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment checks and report safety issues.

Location:Andover, Hampshire.

Hours:50 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 6am-4pm.

Salary:£37,000-£44,000 per annum (depending on experience and tickets) Overtime paid at X1.5 on top of base salary.

About the Role:

Working on a variety of different reactive contracts, you will be driving our gully wagons, working closely with an operative to clean along the highways. You will be working closely with a HGV driver to clean along the highways, up and down the country

You will be assisting with getting in and out of the cab to conduct work accordingly, so a hands on approach is needed and a willingness to get stuck in; and you will be responsible for using a company tablet on a daily basis.

You will be outdoors for the majority of your working day - so a love for the great outdoors is also a must!

Mixture of days, nights and working away! ESSENTIAL to consider this before applying.

Use of a tablet is also a requirement of the role; therefore, you will need to have knowledge of using them.

Responsibilities – but not limited to:

• You will be working closely in a team of 2 operating high specification jetting and vacumation units.
• Carry out remote CCTV investigations where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Liaising with customers.
• Updating electronical records.
• Ensuring safety issues are reported.
• Vehicle and Jetting Equipment checks

Experience and qualifications required for the role:
