Job summary

Barhale is seeking a Site Agent/Manager to lead on-site delivery for civil engineering and water projects across the UK. You will oversee safety, quality, environmental impact and programme performance while coordinating with engineers, quantity surveyors and the Contracts Manager.

The role requires CSCS, IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator and Primavera P6 knowledge, plus a proven ability to lead teams and manage contracts under JCT/NEC frameworks.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Agent for civil engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of contract conditions (CDM, Design Management, Programme).
• Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes for civil engineering.
• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• CSCS certification.
• IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certification.
• Temporary works Coordinator Certification.
• Confined space training.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems.
• Demonstrated leadership aligned with company values.
• CEng MICE status or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Primavera P6 and contracts such as JCT/NEC.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction site delivery to meet project objectives with safety, quality, environment and cost control.
• Coordinate with Contracts Manager/Project Manager, engineers and QS to complete projects safely and to spec.
• Lead Sub Agents, Engineers and Foremen when required.
• Ensure Project Plans, RAMS, ITP, and Waste Management Plans are produced in line with procedures.
• Maximise contract commercial performance.
• Prepare and manage project construction programme and two-week look ahead.
• Prepare procurement schedules and liaise with procurement to ensure resources.
