Job summary

CPR is recruiting a Project Engineer to join the civil engineering scope of a major high speed rail programme based in Birmingham. You will support design assurance, review contractor deliverables and help pass assets through gates to rail systems teams.

You bring a civil engineering background and experience on major programmes with standards management, technical assurance and safety activity. Chartered Engineer status is a plus; NEC/Nec3 exposure is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering background with major projects experience.
• Experience in standards management, technical assurance and safety.
• Familiarity with UK construction regulations including CDM.
• Path to Chartered Engineer status or already Chartered.

Responsibilities

• Verify technical evidence produced by designers and contractors and ensure it meets requirements.
• Support technical assurance reviews and carry out spot-checks on contractor deliverables.
• Manage CDM risk within delegated authority and communicate engineering requirements clearly to contractors.
• Provide engineering guidance drawing on best practice and promote efficient approaches.
• Coordinate interfaces across supply chain and rail systems teams to keep programme threads connected.
