Amey is offering a Civil Engineering Summer Placement with the CAFA team in the Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, York. The role focuses on structural assessment of railway structures, with a start date in July 2027 and a 8–12 week placement term.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one.
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) requirement.
• Adhere to all safety requirements when carrying out work.
• Proactive attitude towards learning and development with potential for progression.
• Enthusiasm for being part of a high-performing team and a drive for success.
• Team player with respect for colleagues.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis and assessment calculations to determine structural load carrying capacity of various structures.
• Propose strengthening and maintenance options.
• Plan and undertake bridge inspections to confirm structural details and condition.
• Develop innovative solutions to enhance inspection and technical capabilities.
• Prepare technical drawings and reports.
