Job summary

Amey is offering a Civil Engineer Summer Intern position in the CAFA team of the Transport Infrastructure Business Unit, based in Cardiff. Salary is £12.71 per hour, with a 37.5 hour work week and potential overtime for weekend site work. Start date is July 2027.

Interns gain insight into life at Amey and may access the Graduate Programme after completing studies. You will join a national team performing structural assessments of railway structures, including bridges and canopies across the UK,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one.
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform numerical analysis and assessment calculations to determine structural load carrying capacity.
• Propose strengthening and maintenance options for structures.
• Plan and undertake bridge inspections to confirm details and condition.
