Job summary

Amey is offering a Civil Engineering Summer Placement in the NMC NE team, based in Perth. The 8–12 week program starts July 2027 and provides hands-on experience across data collation, inspections, and project administration within a supportive, high‑performing team.

Applicants should be studying Civil Engineering, hold or be working towards a UK driving licence, and be prepared to work full-time during term-time on site at Caledonian House.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence or working towards obtaining one.
• Ability to work in technical teams with high quality standards.
• Proficient in MS Office, CAD software and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and effective collation of data.
• Carry out inspections in accordance with the Well-Maintained Highways Code of General Practice.
• Ensure contract compliance on data quality management issues.
• Comply with health and safety legislation.
• Communicate with the third-party claims team to provide evidence in defence of claims.
• Assist with establishment and implementation of a programme of inspections and investigations.
• Assist with project administration as required.
• Record time accurately in project control systems.
• Liaise with the OCR and staff to ensure planning, operations and works are completed on time.
• Assist with the preparation of reports and documents as necessary.
• Provide accurate advice to relevant parties on procedures.
