First Recruitment Group is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer for a contract position in Warrington. You will provide technical leadership and delivery management on a major infrastructure project, guiding the civil engineering team through design and construction phases.

The role requires a degree in Civil or Civil/Structural Engineering, with Chartered status desirable. You will lead design work, manage external consultants, and ensure safety, compliance and high-quality outputs within a regulated

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
• Experience leading civil engineering teams on major infrastructure or similarly regulated projects.
• Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, earthworks and external works design.
• Proficient with Civil 3D, InfoDrainage and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design scope from design through construction phases.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and escalate issues as needed.
• Lead and coordinate a team of Civil Engineers and Designers.
• Act as Civil discipline lead in meetings and reviews.
• Oversee work delivered by external consultancies.
• Provide technical leadership, direction and acceptance of deliverables.
• Develop civil designs including 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
• Ensure designs are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
• Fulfil Designer responsibilities under CDM Regulations.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
