Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Newcastle is seeking an Associate to provide technical leadership to our design teams, delivering quality on time and to budget.

You will lead civil engineering projects in the UK and overseas, manage resources and fees, and mentor junior team members across multi-disciplinary inputs.

A Chartered Engineer status is desirable, with strong client relationships and a track record in bids and business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/BSc) with project experience.
• Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status is desirable.
• Broad project experience within civil and multi-disciplinary work.
• Experience in project management and financial control.
• Commercial and strategic ability with track record of business opportunities.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop talent and lead change.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for civil design projects in the UK and abroad.
• Act as Project Director or Project Manager and coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs.
• Manage resources and people at project level; oversee budgets and fees.
• Lead tenders and bids; maintain client relationships for repeat work.
• Foster a culture of technical review, excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with Development and Planning teams to deliver sustainable developments.
• Mentor junior team members and support regional leaders.
