Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer with a highways and drainage focus to join our busy Civils Team in the United Kingdom. The role covers early scoping through detailed design, spanning highways, drainage, utilities, and flood risk, with opportunities to manage projects and grow technically.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree (BEng) and/or Master’s degree (MEng).
• Relevant consultancy experience delivering highways and drainage design for residential, commercial, and wider infrastructure schemes.
• Proficient in industry-standard software including InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience working with developer clients and contractors, delivering infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS welcomed but not essential, interest in integrated AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and lead when required the technical designs and digital delivery of civil engineering projects.
• Prepare and review survey specifications, including utilities and topographical surveys.
• Check and coordinate the production of studies, assessments, and conceptual designs for development schemes (drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks, and flood risk).
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and key stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
• Attend project meetings and communicate technical solutions clearly.
