Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Generator Field Service Engineer to maintain, diagnose, repair, and optimise a fleet of CHP spark ignition biogas engines across Thames Water sites. The role involves travel within the Thames Valley, Home Counties and London area, performing planned and unplanned maintenance.

You will work with CHP support staff, ensure safety and quality, complete service records, and drive parts and lubrication planning.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of operation and maintenance of internal combustion engines.
• Ability to carry out thorough, comprehensive, and methodical diagnostics on engine, generator and associated systems.
• Electrical qualification is an advantage, but not essential.
• Proven hands-on experience with IC engines and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance of the CHP Spark Ignition generator fleet across a geographical region.
• Work with CHP support staff and suppliers to ensure maintenance is safe, within budget, and with minimal downtime.
• Complete service records and reports accurately and timely.
• Identify parts, lubricants and waste for service orders.
• Demonstrate a zero-compromise approach to health, safety and wellbeing in all tasks.
• Ensure excellent customer service and support to sites across Thames Water networks.
• Base location can be Thames Valley, Home Counties or London area; roles involve travel within Thames Water sites.
