Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking a Generator Field Service Engineer to maintain, diagnose, repair and optimise a fleet of CHP spark-ignition biogas engines across Thames Water sites. The role involves traveling within the Thames Valley, Home Counties and London area to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring safety and high service levels.

You will use engine/generator controls (ComAp, DIA.NE, TEM Evo), coordinate with support staff, and document service records while

Qualifications

• NVQ/C&G or engine manufacturer qualification in mechanical engineering.
• Electrical qualification is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with internal combustion engines and related systems.
• Experience with natural/Bio/AD Gas engines is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance of the CHP spark-ignition generators within a geographical region.
• Work with CHP support staff and suppliers to ensure maintenance is safe, minimal downtime and within budget.
• Complete service records and reports accurately and timely.
• Identify parts, lubricants and waste required for orders.
• Demonstrate a zero-compromise attitude towards health, safety and well-being.
• Ensure excellent customer service and knowledge transfer to team members.
