Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Generator Field Service Engineer based in Rickmansworth to maintain, diagnose and repair a fleet of CHP spark-ignition biogas engines across Thames Water sites. The role requires travel within the Thames Valley, strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities, and a willingness to travel between locations.

The job offers a competitive package with 45 hours per week, standby rota, potential overtime, and excellent company benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in operation and maintenance of internal combustion engines.
• Strong diagnostic skills for engine, generator and related systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance of CHP Spark Ignition generators within a region.
• Collaborate with CHP support staff and suppliers to ensure safe, timely maintenance within budget.
• Complete service records and reports accurately and promptly.
• Identify parts, lubricants and waste required for maintenance orders.
• Demonstrate a zero-compromise attitude towards health, safety and well-being.
• Maintain excellent customer service and support other team members with training.
