Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Children's Housing Support Worker in Chepstow to help young people in homeless projects. You will work night shifts supporting children in daily activities, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring safety according to care plans and guidelines.

The role requires empathy, resilience, and at least 6 months of relevant experience. An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one is needed, along with the right to work in the UK.

• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Title: Children's Housing Support Worker

Pay: £14.25 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay

Location: Chepstow

Time: 21:30 - 07:30 Waking nights or 20:00-08:00

What you’ll be doing as a Children's Homeless Worker

• To support the children and young people in all day to day activities and interests
• To promote the young persons independence and wellbeing
• To protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
• To provide emotional and practical support to the young people within your home.
• To ensure the safety of young people by maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
• To support, overcome and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging.

What you’ll need to have to be a successful Childrens Support Worker

• A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
• Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
• At least 6 months of experience working with children or within a similar Social Care setting
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or are willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
