Job summary

Active Assistance is recruiting a Children's Support Worker to care for an 11-year-old boy with complex health needs in his family home in Redruth. The role features weekday evenings and Sundays on a flexible 2–3 shifts per week basis, under a zero-hours arrangement.

You will join a supportive team with specialist training, DBS checks, and ongoing supervision to help develop clinical skills and deliver high-quality family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for a child with complex health needs.
• Willing to work 2–3 shifts weekly, including evenings and Sundays.
• Basic understanding of care needs in a home setting.

Responsibilities

• Support an 11-year-old boy with complex health needs at home, as part of a dedicated care team.
• Assist with daily activities and care routines, following specialist training and care plans.
• Participate in the induction and ongoing training, ensuring high quality, compassionate care.

Our clients’ needs include learning disabilities, PEG feed, challenging behaviour, non-verbal, epilepsy and he wears splints. We will provide full specialist training and shadow shifts.This is a rewarding role where you can work with one child, enhancing his life every week. It is also a great opportunity to enhance your clinical skills.Shifts:Weekday evenings (4.15pm-8.15pm) and Sundays (12pm-8pm)2-3 shifts a week availableIn this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance.
