TeacherActive is working with a children's residential home in Sunderland to recruit a supportive Children’s Support Worker. This role offers part-time and full-time opportunities across day and night shifts, with a pay rate of £14.25 - £15 per hour.

You will safeguard, engage young people in activities and help them develop practical life skills in a safe and positive environment where individual needs are understood.

Qualifications

The setting supports children and young people with SEMH, complex trauma and autism, providing a safe and supportive environment where their individual needs are understood.

The residential home is looking for a Children's Support Worker, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available across day and night shifts. The successful Children's Support Worker will support safeguarding, engage young people in activities and help them develop practical life skills while providing consistent day-to-day support.

The successful Children's Support Worker will have:

  • A relevant Children and Young People qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience supporting children or young people is required
  • Experience supporting SEMH, complex trauma or autism
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding
  • The ability to engage young people in activities and support the development of life skills
  • A patient, reliable and positive approach
