Job summary

J&L Recruitment in Derby is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join a Children's Residential Home. You will provide day-to-day care and support, help create a safe, nurturing environment, and work with colleagues to meet each young person’s emotional and developmental needs.

Sleep-ins are a part of the role and flexibility with shifts is essential. Experience with children helps, and a Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable or you can work towards it.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people is desirable.
• Caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding safeguarding and vulnerable young people.
• Willingness to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
• Level 3 Residential Childcare desirable or willingness to work towards it.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
• Help create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment.
• Support young people with their emotional, social and developmental needs.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide consistent, child-centred care.
• Participate in activities that promote independence, confidence and positive outcomes.
