Connective Careers Pathways is recruiting a Residential Support Worker for a children's residential home in Newcastle-under-Lyme. You will work on a 40-hour week with 5 sleep-in shifts per month, providing day and overnight support to young people with LD and complex needs.

The role offers sleep-in shifts, a competitive hourly rate, and benefits including training, pension, and on-site parking. A caring, resilient approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or adults with learning disabilities or complex needs is highly desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work a varied rota including days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a calm, person-centred approach.
• Genuine passion, empathy, and resilience for supporting vulnerable young people.
• Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory policies.

Responsabilités

• Support children with learning disabilities and complex needs per individual care plans.
• Promote life skills, independence, and daytime activities for young people.
• Complete sleep-in shifts on-site to ensure overnight safety and support.
• Assist with health, emotional, or sensory needs during the day and evening.
• Contribute to domestic duties including cooking, cleaning and laundry.
• Maintain detailed daily logs, care plan updates, and incident reports.
• Provide clear, comprehensive handovers to incoming team members.
