Job summary

Purosearch Ltd is seeking a Registered Manager to lead a new 3-bed children's residential home in Redditch. You will drive opening preparations, establish a therapeutic, child-centred culture and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards.

You will have a Level 5 leadership qualification and a proven track record of opening new homes, with strong leadership and safeguarding knowledge. A competitive salary and bonus are offered along with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
• Experience of opening and registering a new children's residential home.
• Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Ability to recruit, develop and retain a high-performing residential care team.
• Understanding of therapeutic, child-centred and trauma-informed approaches.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Calm, resilient and solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Ofsted registration process and prepare the home for opening.
• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day management and operation of the home.
• Ensure the home operates in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and quality standards.
• Promote safeguarding practices and prioritise children's welfare.
• Recruit, supervise, develop and inspire a high-performing staff team.
• Establish a warm, nurturing and therapeutic culture within the home.
• Embed child-centred practice and address individual needs and aspirations.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers and partner agencies.
• Oversee care planning, risk management and safeguarding processes.
• Monitor quality assurance, audits and continuous improvement across the service.
• Manage the home's budget and resources.
• Ensure children access meaningful experiences, activities, holidays and opportunities.
• Support development of the organisation as it expands to additional homes.

What We're Looking For

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's home
• Proven experience of opening and registering a new children's residential home
• Strong knowledge of Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements
