Job summary

Purosearch Ltd is seeking a Registered Manager for a 2-bed Ofsted-registered children’s home in Fleetwood. You will lead daily operations, ensure safe, high-quality, child-centred care, and maintain strict regulatory compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

Experience as a Registered Manager in children's residential care is essential, with strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent people leadership.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Manager in children's residential care
• Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge and focus on child protection
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Take overall leadership and day-to-day management of the 2-bed children’s home
• Ensure safe, nurturing, high-quality child-centred care
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted and regulatory standards
• Lead, develop and support a stable staff team
• Manage rotas, staffing levels and budgets

• Develop, implement and review care plans and risk assessments

What We're Looking For

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or currently working towards it
• Previous experience working as a Registered Manager within children's residential care
• Minimum 3 years' experience in children's home leadership
• Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and relevant statutory guidance
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a stable and effective staff team
• Experience managing rotas, staffing levels and budgets
• Strong organisational, communication and decision-making skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex behaviours is desirable
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic approaches is desirable
• Genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the leadership and day-to-day management of the 2-bed children's home
• Ensure the home provides safe, nurturing and high-quality child-centred care
• Maintain full compliance with Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure the welfare of children and young people remains paramount
• Recruit, lead, support and develop a stable and motivated staff team
• Manage staffing levels, rotas and resources effectively
• Oversee budgets and ensure the home operates effectively within agreed financial parameters
• Develop, implement and regularly review care plans and risk assessments
• Complete audits, quality assurance checks and monitoring activity
• Identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans
• Build strong and professional relationships with Local Authorities, families, social workers and other external professionals
• Work collaboratively with the wider professional network to ensure children receive consistent and holistic support
• Monitor outcomes for children and young people and ensure their individual needs, wishes and feelings are central to care
• Drive continuous improvement across the service and maintain high standards of care
• Lead by example, creating a positive and therapeutic culture within the home
