Job summary

Devon County Council seeks a dedicated Residential Care Assistant for our Children’s Homes in Okehampton. This full-time role focuses on supervising shifts, supporting children with complex needs, and promoting life skills in a home-from-home setting.

The post requires a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, a valid UK driving licence, and a DBS disclosure. We offer a 37-hour week with enhancements up to £4,000 a year, and flexible working options.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or Ofsted-recognised equivalent.
• Experience with children and young people with complex needs.
• Ability to drive with a valid UK licence and access to a vehicle.

• Supervising shifts within the Home and providing staff supervision.
• Supporting children and young people to achieve personal goals.
• Organising activities and fostering a safe, positive home environment.
