Job summary

Devon County Council is seeking a Residential Support Worker for our Children’s Homes. You will support children and young people with complex needs, helping them meet personal goals, develop life skills, and participate in activities in a safe, caring environment.

The role involves shift patterns, including mornings, evenings and weekends, on a 37-hour week. A valid UK driving licence is required to access homes, with some homes using manual vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people with complex needs.
• Familiar with person-centred planning.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Numeracy and literacy skills to GCSE level.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Short courses relevant to the role (First Aid, Food Hygiene, trauma led practice).
