Job summary

Purosearch Ltd in Bury, Greater Manchester, is recruiting a Children’s Home Manager for a 3-bed EBD home. You will provide inspirational leadership to a dedicated care team and drive excellence in all aspects of residential childcare.

The role requires proven experience in children’s homes (EBD/SEMH preferred), a Level 5 Diploma (or working towards), and strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing or deputy-managing a children’s home (EBD/SEMH preferred).
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
• Strong knowledge of children’s residential legislation, safeguarding, and Ofsted frameworks.
• Calm, resilient and child-focused with leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong, inspirational leadership to a dedicated care team.
• Ensure the home meets and exceeds Ofsted standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement high-quality care plans tailored to each young person.
• Promote a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
• Manage staffing, rotas, supervision, and professional development.
• Work effectively with placing authorities, families, and external professionals.
• Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and behaviour support strategies.
• Manage budgets and resources efficiently.
