Teaching Personnel are partnering with a specialist SEND school in Brighton & Hove to recruit a dedicated Child Support Leader on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. The role supports primary and secondary pupils with SEND and PMLD, delivering 1:1 and small-group assistance across the school day.

You will be a patient, proactive role model, building positive relationships with pupils and working closely with teachers and support staff to promote engagement, independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience with PMLD/SEND desirable.
  • DBS: Enhanced Child-Only DBS required.
  • Qualifications and training as per Teaching Personnel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to engage with learning and develop independence.
  • Provide a caring, patient presence and act as a positive role model for pupils.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to plan and deliver appropriate activities.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive environment to promote wellbeing and participation.

Child Support Leader – SEND School | Brighton & Hove

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEND school in the Brighton & Hove area who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Child Support Leader to join their team on a full-time basis.

The school supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of complex additional needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

They are looking for someone who is confident, compassionate and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.

As a Child Support Leader, you will step into a full-time position and work closely with the school's SEND pupils across both the primary and secondary phases.

You will provide tailored support on both a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping pupils engage with their learning, develop their independence and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.

Due to the nature of the setting, you must be comfortable working alongside pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and be able to adapt your approach to meet each pupil's individual needs.

The ideal Child Support Leader will be:

Position: Child Support Leader
Location: Brighton & Hove
Pay: £360–£460 per week
Availability: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Contract: Temp to Perm
Setting: Primary & Secondary SEND
Experience: PMLD/SEND experience highly desirable
DBS: Enhanced Child-Only DBS required
Travel: Accessible by bus
