Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Chief Project Engineer to own the technical solution across the full lifecycle for naval RF/Comms products. You will deputise as SDA, engage with external customers, and ensure design integrity and traceability.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team and drive robust design reviews, enabling on-time delivery within budget. The role emphasises strategic capability improvements, cost initiatives, and close collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong background in developing complex military products and RF/Comms systems.
• Experience with requirements, test qualification and acceptance strategies.
• Experience gaining design certification and customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical solution for all phases of the solution development.
• Chair design reviews for products, systems and services.
• Provide technical direction and risk/opportunity assessments.
• Lead and mentor the technical team to deliver cost-effective designs.
• Define strategic capability improvements and cost initiatives.
