Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Basildon is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive LEUK technical delivery of a complex in-service communications system. You will act as Design Authority, lead systems engineering activities and interface with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs across the lifecycle.

The role offers flexible working with a hybrid model and requires strong leadership, hands-on system integration across software, RF and hardware, and clear architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience applying Systems Engineering across the lifecycle.
• Experience acting as technical authority or owning system architectures.
• Experience eliciting, refining and decomposing customer requirements.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Act as IPT's Design Authority for the HF communications system.
• Lead technical meetings and reviews with the customer.
• Define, refine and maintain system architectures and interfaces.
• Provide input to bids, proposals and change activities.
• Advise on verification, validation and lifecycle activities.
