Job summary

Jersey Electricity plc seeks a seasoned Head of Internal Audit and Risk to lead the group’s assurance and risk activities. You will head the internal audit function, shape the risk framework and deliver independent assurance to the Audit and Risk Committee and Executive Management.

You will drive risk-based audit planning, senior stakeholder engagement, and co-source arrangements while promoting governance, ethics, and robust control environments across the Group.

Qualifications

• Substantial senior leadership experience in internal audit or risk management.
• Experience leading an internal audit function and managing co-source providers.
• Strong understanding of Global Internal Audit Standards and risk-based audit methodologies.
• Experience developing an audit plan linked to principal risks with board reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the internal audit function and provide day-to-day oversight of the team.
• Own the approved Internal Audit Plan and prioritise activity by risk and priority.
• Escalate significant audit issues and ensure independence of Internal Audit.
• Manage audit methodology and Charter, aligned with Global Internal Audit Standards (2024).
• Provide regular updates to the Finance Director and Audit & Risk Committee on delivery and findings.
• Lead risk management; own enterprise risk management framework and monitoring.
• Contribute to annual Board risk sessions and risk reporting to executives and committees.
• Oversee budgeting for Internal Audit and management of co-source arrangements.
• Develop a risk-aware culture through mentoring and training.
