Job description

Want to make a change to people’s lives, and lead an organisation that has a mission to empower people who are marginalised by building powerful partnerships and creative solutions that bridge gaps in provision and aid recovery, reablement and resettlement?

Getting people out of prison, out of hospital and off the streets.

Social Interest Group (SIG) is a not-for-profit organisation providing thousands of people with good-quality support and care in residential, drop-in centres, community floating support settings (including people’s own homes), probation settings, and hospitals awaiting discharge. We do so across London, Brighton, Bedfordshire, Luton, and Kent. We also support people in prisons, currently delivering services in Liverpool. We believe in the power of well-planned, well-managed services to make a difference. We work with high standards and external and internal regulatory frameworks.

We operate through several subsidiary charities, including SIG Penrose, SIG Equinox, SIG Pathways to Independence, SIG Safe Ground, and SIG Housing Trust.

We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organisation into its next phase of growth and impact. The CEO, reporting to the Chair, will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and external representation of SIG. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep commitment to our mission and values, who can drive our strategic objectives and enhance our services.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role either within the charity or non-profit sector, or within an organisation that operates in a similar environment to SIG
  • Experience in managing change and driving organisational growth
  • Demonstratable track record of successful strategic planning and implementation
  • Experience in working with a Chair to support a board of directors, and demonstrating accountability and transparency in governance
  • Experience of providing expertise, advice, and briefings to senior leaders in response to emerging issues
  • Experience of commissioning, managing and/or conducting impact analysis in health, social care, and/or criminal justice settings
  • A track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement within an organisation
  • Proven experience in people management and driving performance in a positive culture, within which a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is critical
  • Deep commitment to the charity’s mission and values, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact in the community
