Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a fantastic SEND provision in Chester to recruit a permanent SEND Teacher for a full-time role starting immediately. The school serves learners aged 5 to 19, many with autism or related needs, and focuses on patience, inclusivity and helping students gain independence.

The successful candidate will hold QTS and have experience with ASD/LD/SLD/ADD/ADHD, plus exposure to therapeutic approaches. A supportive team and CPD opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• QTS required to teach in a SEND setting.
• Experience with children and young people with additional needs, incl. ASD, SLD, PMLD, ADD, ADHD.
• Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach students across all Key Stages (ages 5–19) in a SEND setting.
• Deliver an engaging, varied curriculum and support social, emotional and personal development.

Underpinning this, is the consistent teaching of people skills, and guidance to assist children develop their social, emotional, and personal abilities. The school is looking to take on a permanent SEND Teacher on a full-time basis. The successful SEND teacher will be working directly with students across all Key Stages, whose ages range from 5 19yrs. Most of the young people are diagnosed with either Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or Attention Deficit Disorder / ADD.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS
• Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically ASD, SLD, PMLD, ADD, ADHD
• Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices
