Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a SEND provision in Chester to recruit a permanent SEND Teacher for a full-time position. The school serves students aged 5 to 19 with ASD, LD, ADD/ADHD and other needs, following a varied curriculum focused on social and personal development.

The successful candidate will hold QTS and have experience supporting learners with additional needs, supported by a professional onboarding process and opportunities for CPD.

Qualifications

• QTS is required to teach in the SEND setting.
• Experience working with children and young people with additional needs (ASD/SLD/ADD/ADHD).
• Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students across all Key Stages, ages 5–19.
• Support pupils with SEND across the curriculum and develop individual plans.
• Deliver therapeutic-style activities to promote social, emotional and personal development.

The school is looking to take on a permanent SEND Teacher on a full-time basis. The successful SEND teacher will be working directly with students across all Key Stages, whose ages range from 5 - 19yrs. Most of the young people are diagnosed with either Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or Attention Deficit Disorder / ADD.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS
• Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically ASD, SLD, PMLD, ADD, ADHD
• Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices
