Job summary

Yeovil College in Bath is seeking a part‑time Chef Study Programme Manager and Lecturer to teach across our Professional Cookery and Hospitality programmes. You will deliver practical learning, shape learners' futures and use industry experience to keep content relevant.

The role focuses on developing culinary skills, professional behaviours and progress tracking, with a favourable work-life balance and a 15‑hour week. Suitable for experienced chefs or culinary educators.

Qualifications

  • Industry expertise in Professional Cookery or Catering with a Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience teaching across courses/levels with engaging learners.
  • Commitment to learner success with tutoring and progress tracking.
  • Creative approach; develop flexible resources and use digital tech.
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade A–C (or equivalent); teaching qualification or willing to pursue.
  • Strong communication, organisation, initiative and teamwork.
  • Ability to support SEND and high-needs learners.

Chef Study Programme Manager and Lecturer

You'll use your industry experience to keep learning relevant, support students to achieve their qualifications and help them progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study. What we’relooking for:
  • Industry expertise in Professional Cookery or Catering, with a relevant qualification up to Level 3 and knowledge of current industry practices.

  • Teaching experience across a range of courses and levels, with a passion for engaging learners and achieving great outcomes.

  • A commitment to learner success, with experience in tutoring, supporting SEND and high-needs learners, and tracking progress through target setting and assessment.

  • A creative approach to learning, with the ability to develop flexible resources, engaging lessons and use digital technology to enhance the learner experience.

  • The right qualifications – GCSE English and Maths at grade A–C (or equivalent), a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one. An assessor qualification is desirable.

  • A positive, organised team player with strong communication skills, high expectations, initiative and the flexibility to support learners and colleagues.

  • Annual Salary: £12,553up to £16,182depending on experience
